They have been kiln dried in our iDry vacuum kiln for six weeks, and are eagerly awaiting adoption by a loving home like yours! This is a big chestnut oak that I’m preparing to quartersaw on the mill. Since it’s too big to saw whole, breaking it down lengthwise with the ms880 chainsaw is the only way to go.

Out searching for logs. This process takes up a lot of time, and is not unlike going gambling. Surveying the outside of a log can give you clues to what’s within- but it’s never a done deal until it’s bought and sawn open.
