We recently sat down with our inside sales engineer, Brian Hammer, to talk about his years of experience in the hydraulic industry.

In just 6.5 years, hydraulics has taken him into a surprisingly wide range of industries. Brian has worked with everything from stamping and testing to aerospace, mining, press manufacturing, and general manufacturing. That variety is part of what keeps the work exciting.

He also shared one of the coolest projects heโ€™s been part of. He helped customize a hydraulic rotary actuator for a forklift manufacturer developing a new machine. For Brian, the most interesting part was being involved in the design process and seeing how a new piece of equipment comes together.

His advice for anyone starting out in fluid power is simple: stay curious. Hydraulics is a mature technology, but itโ€™s far from boring and it continues to power essential work across countless industries.

We sat down with our President, Ben Hunger, in celebration of Fluid Power Professionals' Day this week to talk about his start in the industry.

His fluid power journey started when he was bornโ€ฆ literally, with both his mother and his father part of the hydraulics industry. In college, he broke off to find his own path, studying mechanical engineering, building aircraft carriers for the Navy, and even spending time in the glass bottle industry.

Eventually, a call from his aunt brought him to Germany to work alongside his grandfather at Hunger Hydraulics, and the rest is history. 16 years at IC-Fluid Power later, he says it best himself: "I have hydraulic fluid running through my veins."

Last week, we received an interesting shipment... A Jahns volumetric flow divider! These flow dividers are not seen as often as other types, such as the popular gear flow divider. ๐Ÿ“ฆ
