Yesterday we had the privilege of attending the Wolf Creek Job Corps CCC 61st Anniversary Open House, and left with a lot of respect for what they're building there.

Wolf Creek isn't just placing students in jobs. They're developing careers. Trade skills, soft skills, confidence: the whole picture.

We're proud to accept this award presented to Travis Pritchett. Travis has poured real time and care into those students, and seeing that recognized meant a lot to our whole team.

This week we stopped work to show everyone 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸. Worth every minute.

We opened the shop floor to our whole company for a look at our latest panel repair line while it's still in testing.

Engineers, fabricators, project managers, production and support staff all had a hand in getting this line to where it is today, and we wanted them to see it running. There's nothing quite like seeing the product of your work actually run.

Manufacturing products can create waste. For our customer, the goal was simple: make sure that leftover material didn't go to waste. This system bundles and trims to length. One piece or many, it can handle a lot or a little, turning waste material into something usable for another purpose.

When panels are already cut to size, keeping repair material contained (especially at the edges) isn’t simple. It’s one of the reasons this kind of repair has traditionally been avoided or handled manually.

Jeremy Burford, VP of Plywood at RoyOMartin, said: “Repairing to the end of the panel poses challenges, because the chemical needs to get hard enough that it won’t run out of the defect that’s been removed. But Con-Vey said they could figure it out.”

What started out as a tough challenge, led to the development of our Edge-Damming System and eventually garnered official 🎖️patent🎖️ status for its unique innovation.

Shop testing a ceiling tile conveyor designed for high-temperature performance and long-term reliability.

This project pushed our team to engineer a take-up solution capable of handling both the conveyor length and the demanding oven environment all while maintaining a lightweight, modular design that simplifies installation and maintenance.

A few details worth watching for in this build:
• Heat-resistant wear material supporting the chain return
• Weighted take-up system designed for thermal expansion
• Modular conveyor construction built for flexibility and serviceability

Congratulations on 15 years at Con-Vey, Brandon! 🎉

Throughout his time here, Brandon has taken on a variety of roles across manufacturing and built a reputation as someone who can be counted on when the work gets tough. Today, as a Journeyman Fabricator in our North Fab, he continues to bring a high level of skill, craftsmanship, and determination to the team every day.

Brandon is known for pushing himself to improve, taking on complex projects, and delivering quality work across multiple welding processes.

We had the opportunity to host a group from Wolf Creek Job Corps for a shop tour recently, and it was great!

From welding to machining to automation, they got a firsthand look at what a career in manufacturing can look like - and they asked some thoughtful questions along the way. It’s always energizing to connect with students who are motivated and exploring their next steps.

Thanks to Wendy and the job corps team for making the visit happen. We’re glad to be part of workforce development in our community.

Who do you call when your equipment goes down in the middle of the night?
For our local customers, it’s Ken.

Service Sales at Con-Vey typically looks like weekly check-ins to stay ahead of problems, but sometimes it means 2am calls or a mid-vacation trip back to town to help a customer avoid downtime. (both real things that Ken has done 😅)
