The Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial Swim is passing by Rogers City

An epic tribute is underway as a team of courageous swimmers retrace the final route of the Edmund Fitzgerald, one stroke at a time. Tomorrow marks Stage 7, and the swimmers will be passing right by Rogers City on this unforgettable journey across Lake Huron.

This memorial swim honors the legacy of the 29 lives lost in the tragic sinking and brings awareness to Great Lakes maritime history in a powerful, living way.

Their support boat docked this morning right here at Rogers City Harbor, and we’re honored to be a part of this historic moment.

Let’s go out with a bang, Rogers City!
Today is the final day of the Nautical City Festival, and we’re sending it off in spectacular fashion, from Sunrise to fireworks!

Here’s what’s on deck for this epic finale:

8:00 AM – Start your day right
Enjoy community breakfast at St. Ignatius and stroll through town to discover food stands, sweet treats, and local favorites.

12:30 PM – The Grand Parade
Sponsored by DTE Energy and led by Grand Marshal Brian Bannasch, this can’t-miss event brings the heart of Rogers City to life with floats, music, and hometown pride marching right down the street.

Bishop Chevrolet of Rogers City and Deedra Schalk-Haselhuhn and Dave Haselhuhn are bringing the community co****le today at the Nautical City Festival big tent!

Afternoon Eats Galore
From chicken BBQ (10:30am - sold out) to the Food Court at Courthouse Square, and the ever-popular Strawberry Shortcake & Ice Cream Social at Westminster Church, there are flavors for every festival fan.

10:00 PM – Fireworks over Lake Huron
It all ends with a dazzling display that lights up the sky and caps off an incredible week of community, creativity, and celebration.
