Building the future of energy takes people, partnerships, and places like St. Marys, Pennsylvania.

We recently joined SGL Carbon to celebrate expanded manufacturing capacity and the people making that progress possible. SGL is already producing nuclear-grade graphite components for our first planned Xe-100 deployment with Dow, supported by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program (ARDP).

Our expanded partnership builds on that work, growing graphite production and U.S. machining capacity to support our first project and prepare for the deployments that follow.

Congratulations to the SGL team on this milestone. This is what building the foundation for new nuclear looks like.

With the Xe-100 accepted into the UK’s Generic Design Assessment, X-energy and Centrica are advancing the regulatory and development work behind plans for a potential fleet of advanced nuclear plants across the country, starting at Hartlepool.

From foundation to full structure, TX-1 is taking shape in Oak Ridge.

Vertical construction is now complete on the 214,000-square-foot advanced nuclear fuel fabrication facility, marking another major milestone as we work to establish a new domestic source of TRISO fuel.

Next up: interior buildout, installation of fuel fabrication equipment and construction of supporting facilities.
