Please join us in welcoming David Porcaro as Steel Pro’s newest employee-owner. David recently joined the team as a Manufacturing Technician.

He brings valuable experience from his previous role at Hammond Lumber, where he worked as a yard attendant and was responsible for order picking and supply deliveries. Prior to that, David worked with Reed & Reed, contributing to turbine construction projects in Cherryfield, Maine, as well as the bridge expansion project in Augusta, Maine.

We are excited to have him on board and look forward to his contributions to the team.

Steel-Pro spent the week at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield delivering our Stainless Steel FCAW Welding Module to welding students.

Our Welding Lead, Dalton Rossignol, teaches this week-long stainless flux-core welding course. Steel-Pro provides the classroom instruction, weld wire, and all welding materials required for the training.

Throughout the course, students progress through:
• Single-pass fillet welds
• Multi-pass fillet welds
• 1G plate test
• 2G plate test

Students must successfully pass each phase before moving to the next. The 1G and 2G plate tests are the same ASME bend tests required to work on pressure vessels as a certified welder.

We were also proud to have Steel-Pro welder Elijah Perry, a graduate of the KVCC welding program last year, return to help mentor the students this week.

Steel-Pro is proud to support welding education and help develop the next generation of skilled welders.

Please join us in welcoming Zachariah Mitchell to Steel-Pro as our newest employee-owner. Zach joined the team in February as a Welder, bringing with him a strong educational background and diverse industry experience.

Zach is a graduate of Oceanside High School and Mid-Coast School of Technology (MCST), where he completed three years of study in Auto Collision Repair. He continued his education at Northern Maine Community College (NMCC), earning an Associate Degree in Auto Collision Repair. During his time at NMCC, Zach also completed three semesters of welding coursework, further expanding his technical skill set.

Professionally, Zach spent four years working in a body shop performing comprehensive, start-to-finish collision repairs. He then joined Fisher Plows, where he worked for four years, advancing from Welder to Welder II and ultimately to Welder Lead. In addition to his manufacturing experience, Zach has operated his own business, ZM Heat Pump Cleaning, worked as a stern man, and contributed his skills at Back Cove Yachts.
