We’re excited to recognize Rock House Kids as a recipient of our Fitzgerald Equipment Giveaway Program!

Rock House Kids is dedicated to supporting children and families by providing food, resources, and a safe, welcoming environment for the youth they serve. Their work relies heavily on the careful handling and organization of donated food and supplies to ensure every giveaway is prepared with dignity and care.

At this time, Rock House Kids does not own a hand truck. All food items and donations are moved manually using carts, requiring multiple trips and added time for staff and volunteers. This creates daily operational challenges and limits how efficiently their storeroom can be used when preparing food giveaways for children.

This new pallet/hand truck will make an immediate difference by:

- Improving day-to-day efficiency and reducing the number of trips required

- Making food and donation movement safer and less physically demanding

- Allowing better use of storeroom space during giveaway preparation

- Freeing up staff and volunteers to focus more time on serving children

We’re proud to recognize Racine Kenosha Community Action Agency (RKCAA) as a recipient of our Fitzgerald Equipment Giveaway Program!

RKCAA plays a critical role in food security across Racine and Kenosha Counties, serving as the official, government-designated TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) distributor for both counties. This places RKCAA at the very center of the region’s emergency food supply chain—supporting 24 food pantries and meal sites, partnering closely with both county food banks, and ensuring food reaches seniors, families, veterans, shelters, and rural communities every single week.

Unlike a single-site pantry, RKCAA is the logistical backbone for two counties, moving millions of pounds of food annually through freezer, cooler, and dry storage zones. Every pallet they move helps stabilize the entire emergency food network and supports thousands of households.

As demand continues to rise and existing equipment ages, efficient material handling is more important than ever. Limited access to reliable pallet trucks can slow food movement and place added strain on staff and volunteers—especially during peak seasons and emergency responses.

This new lithium-powered pallet truck will be a true force multiplier for RKCAA, helping to:

- Increase speed and efficiency in warehouse operations

- Reduce physical strain and injury risk for staff and volunteers

- Improve emergency response and high-volume food distribution

- Strengthen support for both Racine and Kenosha County food banks

The Racine County Food Bank plays a vital role in fighting hunger across the community, ensuring individuals and families have access to the food they need. With a small but dedicated team—just two full-time staff members and two part-time drivers—their work depends heavily on having the right tools to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Operating out of a 17,000-square-foot warehouse, the Racine County Food Bank distributes more than one million pounds of food each year. With limited staff and time, efficiency and safety are critical to meeting the growing needs of the community.

This new pallet truck will be an invaluable resource, helping the team work smarter, safer, and more efficiently by improving material handling, reducing physical strain, and speeding up daily operations. Most importantly, it will allow the Racine County Food Bank to focus on what matters most—serving the individuals and families who rely on them.

Through programs focused on food access, workforce development, youth support, and community wellness, HAFA serves thousands of families each year who rely on these essential resources.

As community needs continue to grow, operational efficiency is more important than ever. Limited access to material-handling equipment has been a challenge, often slowing down food distribution and program operations when equipment is unavailable or tied up elsewhere.

This new pallet truck will help HAFA improve efficiency across their operations by reducing downtime, speeding up product movement, and allowing staff and volunteers to focus on what matters most—serving families and strengthening the community.

We’re proud to recognize Northern Illinois Food Bank as a recipient in our Fitzgerald Equipment Giveaway Program!

The Northern Illinois Food Bank’s mission is to ensure that everyone in Northern Illinois has access to nutritious food. Since July, they have been providing food consistently across 13 counties, serving an average of 600,000 people each month who rely on them during challenging times.

As the need continues to grow, operational efficiency is critical. Limited access to pallet trucks has been a major barrier, often causing delays when equipment is tied up in other areas. This slows product movement and can impact how quickly food reaches families who need it most.

The pallet truck will help improve efficiency at key distribution hubs—particularly Rockford and Joliet—by reducing downtime, speeding up product movement, and allowing teams to focus on what matters most: getting nutritious food into the hands of those who depend on it.

We’re proud to recognize Nik’s Wish as a recipient in our Fitzgerald Equipment Giveaway Program!

Nik’s Wish is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Rockford, IL, dedicated to granting wishes to young adults ages 18–24 who are fighting cancer. When Make-A-Wish eligibility ends at 17, Nik’s Wish steps in to fill the wish gap for college-aged cancer warriors who still need hope, joy, and support during their fight.

One of their most powerful symbols is the Wish Lamp, a true beacon of hope for patients and families. The pallet jack will help their team safely move the lamp when it’s off the trailer and assist with repositioning the trailer by hand—making it easier to bring this message of hope to hospitals, events, and the community.
