With these frigid temperatures, there’s an increased risk of meter pits freezing, which can lead to broken meters and pipes.

If you’re concerned about freezing, you may want to allow a small drip of water to keep water moving through the line—especially overnight or during extreme cold. Even a slow drip can help prevent freezing.

If you experience no water or suspect your pit is frozen, please call our after-hours number at 660-744-5365 right away.

We mailed out bills on December 1, so you should have them by now. With this being a heavy mail time of year, we’ve had a several customers let us know they haven’t received their water bills yet. If that’s the case for you, no worries—we’re happy to help!

You can give our office a call to get your current bill amount, pay online at your convenience (you'll need your account number), or stop by the office during business hours to take care of it in person.

🚨 Water Service Repair🚨
PWSD #1 will be shutting off water around noon tomorrow, October 2, 2025, to make a repair to a leak in the line that was found today. Water will be off for several hours.

🚨 Important Notice to PWSD #1 Customers 🚨

We want to let everyone know that the recent line break is not holding and could give way again at any time. Please be aware that water service may have to be shut off without notice — including during the night — as we work to manage the situation. You might want to run off some water for toilet flushing and other things as you see needed.

We are doing everything possible to keep water on until a full repair can be made. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue safely and quickly. You are still under a boil advisory.

We made an attempt to call everyone on Monday with our call system, and it did not get everyone contacted. We also attempted to have Emergency Management send out a text. It went to some but not all. UPDATE 4:00: Water is back on and holding. It will take some time to fill the line. You are under a boil advisory until further notice.

UPDATE 2:45: The workers are getting closer to making the repair. Hopefully within the next 2 hours we will have the water on.🤞🏼

There has been a water line break North of 180th Street and Highway 275. The water line has been shut off and will be off most of the day until the repair can be made. Customers will be under a boil advisory until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience.
