November is the time most people start thinking about shopping. Yes, we shop year round, but when the holiday season begins, extra shopping naturally follows.

We wanted to highlight a few of our favorite brick and mortar businesses and remind everyone of the importance of shopping local. Your support keeps our doors open and our community thriving!

Supporting a small local business can be as simple as sharing a social media post, leaving a positive review, stopping in for a small gift, or getting some of your weekly groceries there. It doesn’t have to be a huge or life-changing commitment! Every customer helps keep small businesses afloat.

Dad, 20 years ago this month, on the cover of Penn Lines and 7 years ago this month since he has been gone. I frequently run in to familiar faces from his past in this business and always leave with a good story or two. It was rare to get him willingly in a picture but here he is standing in front of one of the massive log piles that used to sprawl across the mill yard.

Thanks to the Marion Center Volunteer Fire Department, Plumville District Volunteer Fire Dept, and REA Energy Cooperative, Inc. for the quick response. Fire never left the pole and the power is back on.
