Celebrating 10 Years of the LA Ride!
What began in Lansing and Grand Rapids back in 2016 has grown into a statewide movement blending health, education, and community connection. Over the past decade, the LA Ride has championed “education in motion,” raised awareness of landscape architecture’s role in shaping our environments, and united passionate riders, volunteers, and sponsors across Michigan. And this year was no exception!
On September 12th, the 2025 LA Ride Cycle Tour in Grand Rapids took participants on a 15.5-mile ride with stops at Downtown Grand Rapids, John Ball Zoo, and Millennium Park, showcasing real-world examples of design excellence and community impact.
Topics covered along the ride:
· ADA + universal accessibility along the Grand River
· Downtown revitalization & mobility innovation
· Ecological restoration at Millennium Park
· Zoo stormwater design & watershed stewardship
Watch the recap video to relive the ride, hear from project leaders, and celebrate 10 incredible years of connecting people through design, movement, and community. Here’s to the next decade!
