My goodness at the Rain.....

Here at GeoCon when we perform Borings and/or Soundings, our machines will detect perched Groundwater. Our Engineers will then take that information and help determine if the groundwater levels will affect your project, whether that is a slab for your house, or the preparation of a roadway. This is some real important information! 👍

Happy Monday Everyone!

Even on this rainy Monday our guys here at GeoCon are working hard. Our techs are checking soil samples, the lab techs are breaking soils down, and the Engineers are making sure we provide each customer with an accurate picture of their subsurface conditions, hopefully preventing costly mistakes.

Stay dry out there or heck go play in the mud, that is more fun!

Good morning! You may ask yourself, What is Geotechnical Engineering? Well here you go...

Geotechnical engineering is often confused with civil engineering. However, geotechnical engineering is a subset of civil engineering. Both are very important for Gulf Coast construction. Civil engineering is a broad field and covers designing, building, testing, and maintaining any building, road or structure.

Geotechnical engineering focuses on the engineering behavior of earth materials, including soil, rock, and groundwater. It involves studying how these materials interact with structures such as buildings, bridges, tunnels and dams.
