Great time with our team at Star City Golf Club's Indoor Golf facility! ⛳

Congratulations to the Virginia Military Institute Class of 2026!

As you celebrate this special milestone this weekend, we’re proud to share in the excitement and continue supporting the historic campus that shapes future leaders.

Spectrum Design recently completed a waterproofing and courtyard resurfacing project at VMI’s historic “New Barracks,” originally constructed in 1948. The project enhanced drainage performance, improved insulation values, and provided a durable new courtyard surface featuring a dedicated Sentry Path — blending long-term functionality with respect for the site’s historic character.

A special thank you to Nielsen Builders, Inc. for their outstanding work and partnership on this project.

Wishing the Class of 2026 a memorable celebration weekend and continued success in the years ahead!

Last week, our Director of Design Nathan Harper and Architectural Associate Michael Giddens facilitated a design charrette for the North Cross School – Lemon Dining Hall Upgrades Study, bringing together school leadership, faculty, parents, students, and board members to help shape the future vision for the campus.

The study is exploring ways to better connect and reimagine Slack Hall and Lemon Dining Hall to create a more cohesive and flexible environment for dining, learning, gathering, and collaboration.

Following the session, Michael Giddens was surrounded by curious students eager to see the ideas and drawings as they packed up — a reminder of why collaborative design matters and who these spaces are ultimately for.

We’re grateful to North Cross School for the opportunity and be sure to stay tuned to see how the project continues to develop!

Big things are taking shape at Brookville High School!

From steel going up to spaces coming to life, the new main entrance is well underway and starting to reflect the vision for a welcoming, modern front door for the school. This transformation will create a brighter, more open arrival experience for students, staff, and the community.

We’re excited to see it all come together as we gear up to welcome students for Fall 2026!

Construction is moving along at Culpeper Middle School!

The new 6th grade classroom addition is now under roof and the interior space is taking shape to be a bright, light-filled atrium, creating a welcoming hub for collaboration, creativity, and connection.

Students will begin using these new spaces this fall as renovations continue.

Some projects don’t just take shape—they grow.

Today, Local Environmental Agriculture Project - LEAP’s West End Pavilion opened its doors (and its market stalls 🌱), creating a space where fresh food, local growers, and community all come together. From the ribbon cutting to an afternoon full of music, kids activities, and market energy, this is more than a building—it’s a gathering place.

We’re proud to have partnered with LEAP as architects and engineers on both this new pavilion and their headquarters—helping bring their mission to life through spaces that serve people first.

If you’re nearby, stop in, stay awhile, and be part of it.

What a night at the The Rex Theater in Galax, VA 🎸 — March 27th marked the first live music show after completing Phase 1 renovations, and those new lights, sound, and AV upgrades did NOT disappoint!

📷 The view from the house on opening night — we'll let it speak for itself.

As the A/E on this project alongside our partners Salas O'Brien and Stage Sound, Inc, and general contractor Hayco Construction LLC , we are SO excited to be part of the revitalization of this historic icon for the City of Galax and this incredible community.

And we're just getting warmed up 🔥 — Phase 2 construction is coming soon, bringing long-awaited balcony renovations (closed for YEARS!) back to life and nearly DOUBLING the seating capacity of this historic venue.

Next shows are April 17 & 18 — get your tickets and come see what the buzz is all about! Tag someone who needs a night at The Rex! 👇

Today, Spectrum Design’s Kimberlyn Lindsay and Granville Grant had a fantastic time at Central Elementary School's Career Day in Rockbridge County!

Students got hands-on with creativity—designing their own classrooms and coloring pages of our designs. It was amazing to see their ideas and imagination shine.

Career Day is all about introducing students to a wide variety of professions in a fun, age-appropriate way. By hearing directly from professionals, students can start to picture their futures and explore the many paths available to them.

We loved helping spark curiosity about careers in architecture, engineering, and interior design—and who knows, we may have met some future designers in the making!
