This is what happens when a Hinterland Group crew gets to work.

Before: Years of corrosion, deterioration, and wear on critical underground infrastructure — the kind of damage that goes unseen until it becomes a serious problem.

After: A fully restored, protected manhole ready to serve the community for decades to come.

Most people never think about what is beneath their feet. We never stop thinking about it. The unseen infrastructure that keeps communities running is exactly where we do our best work… in the hinterland.

For this project, we used Refratta HAC 100 by Global Materials Company — a 100% pure calcium aluminate cement coating engineered for the harshest wastewater environments. Superior corrosion resistance, excellent bonding, and built to last.

Manhole coating done right extends the life of the system, prevents costly failures, and keeps things moving above ground — without anyone noticing a thing.

Meet Alex and Christian — two of the hardest working members of the Hinterland Group crew.

There is a reason we are called Hinterland. Our work happens in the places most people never see — deep in the ground, inside the aging infrastructure that communities depend on every single day. The hinterland of every city is its underground, and that is exactly where our crews live and work.

On-site here for a tidal valve manhole coating project, these two show up, suit up, and get the job done — every time, on time, without exception. That is the Hinterland standard.
