Solar systems are becoming increasingly popular as a way to generate renewable energy and reduce electricity costs. There are several options for acquiring a solar system, including purchasing it outright, leasing it from a solar company, or financing it over time. When buying a property with a solar system, it is important for the seller to disclose the existence of the system to potential buyers as early as possible. This will allow any necessary steps to be taken during the escrow process to ensure a smooth transaction.

Here is a few things that will make it easier on all parties throughout the transactions:
SELLER
- Disclose whether the equipment is leased, paid, or being paid.
- Provide your Escrow company with the Solar Contract upfront
- Notify the solar company of the pending transfer

BUYER
- Make sure to be in communication with Escrow company
- Obtain early approval for assuming the solar agreement from the lender.
- If the solar equipment is leased or financed, the buyer will need to qualify to assume the agreement
