Yesterday, our team had the privilege of fully preparing and serving a taco bar at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City, supporting families whose children are receiving treatment at the local children’s hospital and rehabilitation centers.

This meaningful experience gave us the opportunity to bring a little comfort and joy to families navigating incredibly difficult times. With every taco served, we hoped to offer not just a meal, but a moment of relief and connection.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped prep, serve, and clean up—your kindness and teamwork make a real difference.

🎒📚 Back to School, Back to Giving!

The Marlen team had a fantastic time volunteering at the Platte County Back to School Fair, hosted by Equal Start. As families prepare for a new school year, we were proud to lend a hand and help students gear up for success.

It was a hot day, but that didn’t stop our team from showing up with energy and heart. Kudos to the team members who worked outside unloading supplies—your effort made a big impact!

This week, we celebrated all the incredible women across the globe, especially the amazing women of Marlen, in honor of International Women’s Day. Yesterday, a team from Marlen volunteered at Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City, supporting their inspiring Women Build movement. This initiative empowers female-led families to achieve strength, stability, and independence. Our team enthusiastically painted, caulked, installed bathroom counters, and more, all to help a deserving family move into their new home soon.

And today, the wonderful women at Marlen Riverside gathered for a heartwarming lunch filled with encouragement and laughter. To keep the positive energy flowing, everyone received a copy of "Gravitas" by Lisa Sun. It was a truly uplifting experience for all!

Today we celebrated Manufacturing Day at the Marlen Riverside plant by inviting students from Park Hill South High School and Northland Career Center to tour our Riverside plant and learn more about what we do. It was great to highlight the benefits of a job in manufacturing while promoting all the great skills needed to make our equipment.

We also celebrated our team members with commemorative manufacturing day t-shirts and lunch courtesy of the Melt Food Truck! It was the perfect day for a great outside break.

We visited our engineering department and spoke with Marcus about why he chose to work in Manufacturing. He said it’s a “good industry to get into and stay in due to the stability.” Marcus got into Manufacturing because he was “referred to Marlen by a friend (and now colleague) and it seemed like something I wanted to do.”

Marcus’ advice to someone interested in manufacturing is it “
doesn’t matter how long you’ve been doing it; you’re always going to be learning something.”

We had a quick chat this week with Marquis on the Marlen receiving team and asked him why he liked working in Manufacturing; especially shipping/receiving. He said, “I like that it’s never the same; something is always coming in, something is always going out. Somebody always needs something; there is always a due date. All of that keeps it from being boring.”

We asked what advice he would give someone who is thinking of a career in Manufacturing, Maquis’ advice was “If you are a problem solver, you should come into Manufacturing. Ideas are always needed.”
