Breaking ground on Pit 10 at Davenport Works!

Last week we celebrated an exciting milestone for DPW and the QC community — the official groundbreaking for Pit 10!

Surrounded by team members, local partners, and community leaders, we put shovels in the ground to commemorate this new pit that will strengthen our operations, support future growth, and reinforce our long-standing commitment to Riverdale, Bettendorf, and the greater Quad Cities area.

This investment represents more than new construction — it reflects the dedication, innovation, and pride of every person who works at Davenport Works.

We’re building for the future, and we’re doing it together.

🚨 Interested in becoming an Electrician? 🚨

IBEW Local 1379’s 2026 Electrical Apprenticeship Program is now accepting applications! This Department of Labor Registered, four‑year program begins June 15, 2026, and offers a blend of paid, on‑the‑job training and classroom instruction.

📅 Application window:
February 2 – March 2, 2026

📄 How to Apply:
• Arconic employees only: Submit a resume to Center Gate security starting Feb. 2 (deadline: 6:00 AM on March 2)
OR
• Public: Email your resume to [email protected] by March 2
➡️ Resumes must include a valid email address and phone number — email will be used to schedule testing.

🧰 Program Highlights:
• Paid classroom time
• 2‑2‑3, 12‑hour work schedule during training
• Tools, uniforms, and PPE provided
• Progressive wage increases throughout the apprenticeship
• Excellent benefits through IBEW
• Only 16 apprentices will be selected — based on testing & interview

Last evening, Arconic employees came together for our annual Christmas Basket packing event and WOW did we deliver!

In just 32 minutes, our amazing volunteers packed 500 baskets filled with holiday meals for families in need. This tradition, dating back more than 75 years, is a true testament to the power of teamwork and community spirit.

A huge thank you to Lee Shaffer and his team for all the work they put into the planning of this event and to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this possible. Your generosity raised over $21,000 to fund these baskets, spreading hope and joy this holiday season.

🎄✨ What a day to remember at the Festival of Trees Parade!

We’re feeling so grateful for all of our incredible employees who volunteered their time and energy today. Your smiles, teamwork, and holiday spirit made the parade shine even brighter. 💙

A heartfelt thank‑you to our Parade Marshall, Terrence Thom, and his wife Katie, for leading the way with such joy and enthusiasm.

And can we talk about that Cat in the Hat balloon? 🎩🐱 It was pure magic watching it float through the streets and delight the crowd!
