🚜 HARVEST SEASON ROADWAY SAFETY 🌽
It’s that time of year again! As our local farmers work hard to bring in this year’s harvest, we want to remind everyone to slow down and stay alert for farm equipment on our roadways.
Large tractors, combines, grain carts, and other farm equipment often travel at much slower speeds than normal traffic. You may come upon them quickly, especially over hills, around curves, or after dark.
⚠️ Please remember:
• Slow down as soon as you see farm equipment ahead.
• Keep a safe following distance and be patient.
• Never pass on hills, curves, or where you cannot clearly see oncoming traffic.
• Watch for equipment making wide turns or pulling into fields and driveways.
• Be alert for mud, debris, or spilled grain on the roadway.
• Remember that flashing lights and slow-moving vehicle signs mean SLOW DOWN.
A few extra minutes of patience can help prevent a serious accident.
Our farmers are working long hours to put food on tables and complete their harvest safely. Please give them plenty of room, slow down, and help make sure everyone gets home safely at the end of the day.
🚜 Share the road. Be patient. Stay alert. Stay safe. 🌽
