Don’t know what to do with those old 5-gallon buckets?

Drywall Tool Depot has a few ways to put them back to work.

• Bucket wheel kit so the bucket rolls with you instead of getting carried

• Trim-Tex mixer sitting in a 5-gallon bucket so you can mix right where the mud is

• Bucket Splash Guard that snaps on and keeps the splash in the bucket

• Mud brush in a bucket of water for cleanup after you’re done — knock the mud off your knives and tools before it sets

• DustStopper Pro hooked up so the same bucket becomes dust collection

• Orange silicone bucket liner — mud can sit in it for days, then dump clean. It doesn’t stick to the silicone

They don’t just dump in a one-size-fits-all preservative package for a year on the shelf. They tailor the levels to the time between when it’s made and when you’re using it. So what you get is fresher mud, with less preservative than it would need if it were sitting around for months.
That’s a big part of why it mixes so smooth and sands so easy. Less junk in it, fresher batch, knife glides, and when it’s dry it doesn’t fight you. It’s the easiest sanding mud we stock, and the guys who run it keep coming back for it.

FLEX Rotary Drywall Sanders — corded and cordless.

FLEX just launched this line, and it’s already turning heads. The headline is the carbon fiber shaft — an industry first — which drops the weight to just 6.2 pounds. That’s two to three pounds lighter than most drywall sanders on the market, which matters a lot when you’re overhead all day.

The corded 120V models run $725.55 without the LED light ring, $855.55. with it. The 24V cordless kit with two 5.0Ah batteries is $965.55.

For context, the closest competitor — Festool’s Planex — starts at $799 and tops out at $1,599, and it’s heavier with slower top speed.
Other things worth knowing: 160-degree pivoting head, brushless motor, variable speed with soft start, and a vacuum hose adapter for dust control. The light ring illuminates the surface as you sand so you catch imperfections in real time instead of reworking later.

Warranty’s one year on corded, five years on cordless with registration.
