One of the greatest parts of being a family-owned business is supporting not only our employees, but the people and things that mean the most to them.

Good Morning!! Early Notice!!! But we must not forget!!!

A business doesn’t make it 40 years strictly because of the name on the end of the building. It makes it because of the people inside of it — the people who take pride in their work and take pride in keeping that business name moving forward.

It’s the early mornings, long days, difficult jobs, and years spent learning a trade. It’s staying late when something needs to get done, stepping up when help is needed, and taking pride in work that most people will never know your name was behind.

Our employees give us something incredibly valuable EVERY DAY — their time, their talent, and their hard work. The reality is that they spend more waking hours here with us during the week than they often get to spend at home with their own families. That time and sacrifice does not go unnoticed. We see it, we value it, and we appreciate it more than we say.

Fifer Sheet Metal would not be what it is today without the men and women who have worked here throughout the years and those who continue to carry it forward.

This Labor Day, we celebrate you. Thank you for what you build, what you sacrifice, and what you give to this company.

This is a brochure our very own Taylor Fifer put together to answer a question our family gets asked all the time:

“So… what exactly does Fifer Sheet Metal do?”

The truth is, that question isn’t always easy to answer in just a sentence or two. What we do goes far beyond simply “working with metal,” so we wanted to give you a better look at who we are, what we make, the industries we serve, and the capabilities we’ve built over the years.

Fifer Sheet Metal has been family-owned and operated in Richmond, Virginia for 40 years. What started in 1986 with James and Judy Fifer has grown through generations of hard work, sacrifice, long days, lessons learned, loyal employees, incredible customers, and a family determined to keep building on the foundation that was laid before us.

For many years, this business has been our family’s whole world. We’ve grown up around it, poured ourselves into it, watched it change, and watched it grow. And 40 years later, we’re still here — continuing to invest in our people, our equipment, our capabilities, and the future of Fifer Sheet Metal.

We’re incredibly proud of where we came from, but we’re even more excited about where we’re going.

We generate scrap metal every day here at Fifer Sheet Metal, including Copper #1 and Copper #2, and we’re looking to build a relationship with a local recycling center that offers COMPETITIVE PRICING!

Like any other manufacturer, we’ve already invested in the material coming through our doors, so being responsible with our scrap and getting a fair return on it is important to us.
