Yesterday, Washington Closure Hanford announced that the Sage Tec/FE&C team has won a $15 Million contract to remediate radiological contamination in the 300 area of Hanford. The 300 area was used for radiological research and uranium fuel manufacture. We're looking forward to another successful project with WCH. Congratulations to the entire SageTec team.

Washington Closure Hanford has awarded one of the last major subcontracts for environmental cleanup of the 300 Area just north of Richland to a small Richland business, Sage Tec.

FE&C was a sponsor of this year's Safety Fest in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, as well as being a regular member of the planning committee for the Oak Ridge Safety Partnership (ORSP) responsible for planning quarterly safety forums.

FE&C Oak Ridge gave a $1000 donation last week to the Knoxville Sheriff's Department to support their "Shop with the Cop" program. This program sponsors children that have been displaced by domestic violence. They ensure that the children receive a Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, a winter coat, and they go shopping with area police officers for their Christmas toys. This donation will help sponsor five children in the Oak Ridge area. 100% of the donation will go to the children.

Congratulations to DOE and Washington Closure Hanford for completing remediation of F area, the first reactor area of Hanford to be fully remediated. FE&C was proud to be one of the contractors involved with the effort, as we completed a $13.7 M remediation of the burial grounds from 2005-2008. U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) contractors have cleaned up the F Reactor Area, the first reactor area at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington state to be fully remediated.

Here's a recent flyover photo of C7. Note the hexavalent chromium pond from the water table rising. FE&C is on the job to remediate the hex chrome all the way to the water table, and has excavated over a million tons so far. Quite impressive!
