The company began business operations in the mid 1960’s, a spinoff of the parent store located in Garland. My father, Ron, began as manager in 1976, then in 1980 became the managing partner and for both stores. In 1990, Garland Saw and Lawnmower was sold, and my father purchased the remaining stock in Richardson Saw & Lawnmower, becoming the sole owner. I started working for my father at the store

when I was about 10 years old, following him around learning the trade. On my summer breaks from, elementary, high school and college, I worked in the sales, parts, and make ready department. In 1998, I took an outside sales job in Tampa, Florida and was employed by Florida Outdoor Equipment. I sold Echo, S**g and Great Dane along with other supplies in the outdoor equipment retail business. I was awarded salesman of the year by the retail dealer association. One year later after working in Florida, my parents decided they wanted to retire and sell Richardson Saw and Lawnmower. I have been the owner since February 2000.
