The Starfish Hill Wind Farm, located near Jervis Bay in South Australia, is the state's first large-scale wind farm, with 22 wind turbines standing at 68 meters tall, totaling 33 MW in capacity. Recently, 3S LIFT engineers Bhikaji and Nishant installed 15 climb auto systems at the wind farm and provided training for on-site maintenance personnel to improve safety and efficiency.

The climb auto system is an elevating system that can be installed without modifying the existing wind turbine platforms and can be installed directly on the existing ladder, replacing manual climbing.

This solution enhances maintenance efficiency, reduces downtime, and improves the working conditions for technicians. The successful implementation of this wind retrofit project has provided safer, more stable, and more efficient tower access for the 21-year-old turbines, improving the wind farm's energy output and supporting the future's green, sustainable development.

This is our 240 model ladder-guided service lift successfully applied in hybrid towers, which greatly improves wind technicians' safety when climbing the tower compared to using the traditional wire-rope service lift.

With many new construction towers exceedingly becoming well over 120m, it has become beneficial for owner operators to incorporate the combined benefits of having both a 3S LIFT Service Lift and Climb Auto System solution.

Pictured here was successful application of both lifting products in the 160-meter-high hybrid tower wind farm in Anhui Province, China.

The service lift first lifts the personnel and materials to a transition deck at 145 meters. Then the technicians transfer to the Climb Auto System which lifts the personnel to the yaw platform for maintenance and operation.

It enables technicians to reach the top of a 160m tower in an efficient and stress-free way to carry out maintenance and operation work.

Pictured here is the successful application of the 3S LIFT rack and pinion ladder-guided service lift in Tibet, China. Tibet has extreme climatic and complex geographical conditions, like high altitude, severe lack of oxygen, strong wind and sand, etc.

To ensure the safety of technicians and improve operation efficiency, the project uses the 3S rack and pinion ladder-guided service lift.

It has features of improved safety, faster lifting speed, and greater load capacity compared to traditional service lifts.

✅ The use of the insulated guide rail system solves the safety hazards caused by the cables in traditional service lifts.
✅ Pinion drive instead of conventional wire rope makes it operate stably.
✅ With 2 lifting systems. When one breaks down, the other can still descend and ascend safely.
✅ Larger load capacity with 480kg and faster lifting speed of up to 36 m/min.
