We recently purchased a Panel Built kit for a customer project.
It was a huge mistake!!
We will NEVER use them again!!
Everything from the engineering department to the shipping was bad. We kept thinking that it was just a oversight and things would get better, but it continued to get worse on every aspect of the project.
Drawing was incorrect
Shipping was delayed
Shipping was incomplete
Floor was missing
Floor was wrong(they asked us to modify to make it work)
Framing was incorrect
Doors were sent wrong x3
Pre-wired Electrical was wrong(almost burned down)
Insulation was short
Flashing was incorrect
All these issues cost us a 6 week delay.
Panel Built inc. Constantly apologized and attempted to make corrections and even sent technicians on 4 occasions who stated that the warehouse obviously sent the wrong materials and wired it wrong.
Throughout the entire project, panel built assured us that they would pay for any expenses that we had due to their shortages and mistakes.
We paid them in full, even though we didn't receive everything and most of what we received was incorrect. Knowing that they were going to "make things right" at the end of the project.
We kept notes and pictures of every issue, along with receipts for the shortages and damaged materials that we purchased to keep the project moving forward.
We sent an invoice for additional cost to Panel Built inc. For payment, they offered to cover $500 of the almost $10,000 it cost us in additional materials, labor and charges.
We've been installing modular offices and buildings since 1998, out of 27 years of doing business, I've never experienced a company that had so much going wrong.
This was our first and last project with Panel Built inc. (Our customer asked us to use them because they liked what they offered on their website). I caution anyone who is considering using Panel Built inc.
