Remember that post where we showed you the intake and had everyone guessing what it was??

Well… would you have guessed it was a MONZA?! 😎 Definitely not something you see every day, but man this thing is COOL.

We had the opportunity to work on this customer’s newly purchased ride and it came packed with some serious hardware:
• LSX 427
• Precision turbos
• TH400 transmission

But somehow… no intercooler. 😅
The customer wanted that fixed ASAP along with a handful of other upgrades and repairs.

The to-do list included:
• Pulling the TH400 and sending it out for a bill of health
• Replacing dipsticks with locking versions
• Patching some sheet metal inside the car
• Cleaning up a few other odds and ends

As we dug into the car, we found a few issues that needed attention first. The Holley DBC throttle body was dragging the blade against the housing causing it to stick, and the throttle cable routing through the firewall was pulling sideways on the linkage. Definitely not ideal.

The customer also wanted to upgrade from the Holley sheet metal intake, so we tracked down a BTR Trinity LS7 intake on Marketplace and worked out a deal for him. While we were at it, we swapped the throttle body over to a Motion Raceworks ICON unit. We also replaced sensors and cleaned up several vacuum hose routing issues that weren’t in the best locations.

After all of that, it was finally time to tackle the missing intercooler setup.

We pulled measurements, jumped into Fusion, and modeled everything out to figure out the absolute biggest intercooler we could fit while still keeping the original hood appearance intact. We ended up ordering a custom unit from Bell Intercoolers and got to work fitting everything up.

Now this thing should have zero issues keeping intake air temps under control — and we managed to do it without major changes to the look of the car. 👌

We had plans to get it on the dyno ourselves, but due to scheduling the customer had another shop handle the tuning side. Either way, we’re glad we got the opportunity to put our hands on this unique build and leave our touch on it. 🔥

Definitely one of the cooler projects we’ve had roll through the shop.

Big photo dump on our Silverado project we have going on in the shop! 🔥

This build has been an absolute blast to take on and we are getting so close to the finish line. We’ve also been working with some new products behind the scenes that we’re excited to bring to the community for these trucks! 👀

HopefullyHorsepower Proving Groundsefore we’re loading this thing up and heading to the Horsepower Proving Grounds hub dyno to see what it really puts down. 💪

And to think… this thing is supposed to be a towing daily driver. 😂

Trying to get caught back up on our posting schedule, and we had a fun one in the shop recently! 🔥

A customer contacted us a while back about fuel pump issues on his Hellcat. He was on the way to the drag strip when the car suddenly shut off before he even made it there. After getting towed to another shop, they found the fuel pump fuses had literally melted into the plastic. 😳

The previous shop suspected a grounding issue with the board and made a few changes, but the customer wanted a second opinion — so we dug into it.

And we’re glad we did.

At idle, the board was reaching nearly 160°F at the fuses with zero driving involved. 🥵 From there, we started a full diagnostic process and checked the entire fuel system front to back.

We:
• Bore scoped the fuel lines looking for restrictions
• Checked filters, rails, pumps, and pump socks
• Added a second fuel pressure gauge at the rail
• Verified wire sizing, grounds, voltage drops, and amp draw

We ended up finding several issues, but the main problem was the controller board itself.

The pumps were idling at 42 PSI while drawing almost 20 amps. At 13.5 volts and 42 PSI, these pumps should’ve been closer to 18 amps — definitely not ideal.

After additional testing, we swapped the board out for an MSD solid-state relay setup and immediately saw major improvements.

Results after the repair:
✅ Nearly 100°F drop in relay temperature
✅ Pump amperage stabilized
✅ 58 PSI fuel pressure at 13.5V with proper operation
✅ Wire temperatures dropped over 20°F
✅ Repaired poorly installed hose fittings with quality Phenix fittings

The customer has since gotten the car back and is back out driving it with no issues.

Huge thanks to James for trusting JE Customs with his badass Hellcat! If you haven’t seen this thing at the track yet, definitely keep an eye out for it. 👊🔥

🫣 What do we have here!!

A little sneak peak of one of our current projects in the shop getting a full makeover! We will be showing more of this thing once we get closer to completion which isn’t far away!

As some of you know we have a thing for the Nbs trucks! This ole grandpa truck is going to be out hurting some feeling this year and to think it’s still going to be a functional truck when done 🤔 might even see it towing a trailer or 2. 🏎️💨

Super clean c10 showed up at our shop a while back. Came in for a clean up on the tune and we found a few problems that needed to be addressed before we cleaned the tune up. Fuel pump showed it was only getting 12v to the pump while running with a battery voltage of around 14. We diagnosed a bad ground and not enough power feed to the pump. New ground and a 10g wire feeding the relay from the battery and now we got the pump to produce 13.8v at the pump. After we fixed the pump we notice it was not regulating fuel pressure like it should,so we swapped out the fuel filter/regulator combo and installed a fuel lab regulator and an inline fuel filter. We dialed in the tune up and got it to be a lot happier! Thanks Jami for trusting us with your truck!

Just cool product we developed here at the shop for your aeromotive fuel hanger. We made this to be able to use your stock fuel level sensor out of your Silverado. Just pull your old sensor off your old pump hanger, snap your level sensor in your new bracket and clip it on the rod and adjust it how you need. It’s made out of a high chemical resistance filament so no worries about it being submerged in your fuel tank! This could also be used in multi different application if needed! We have these available to the public! Message us if you are interested!

One of the most rewarding aspects of our work is connecting with incredible individuals! Bob and Gin reached out to us with a dream of building a custom exhaust system for their stunning C3 limited edition Corvette. They were less than thrilled with the car's existing exhaust setup. We invited them to bring their car over, and as we explored possibilities, our collaborative vision took shape - and they absolutely loved our proposal! With enthusiasm, we removed the factory manifold, emissions, and exhaust, replacing them with top-notch long tube headers and a full stainless exhaust system. Our design consisted of three manageable pieces, ensuring effortless maintenance without having to remove the entire system. Moreover, we cleverly designed it to accommodate potential future upgrades, such as a new engine or transmission, minimizing the need for extensive modifications and making it a truly one-time investment. We also relocated shock reservoirs to a more suitable spot, fabricating custom mounting brackets in our shop. The end result exceeded expectations, and we're grateful for clients like Bob and Gin who make it all worthwhile! Gin even documented her experience on her YouTube channel, so be sure to check out LADYDRIVEN.

We’re incredibly proud of what we've achieved with this project 💪🏻! After wrapping up the build for our customer, it's clear that this car is a showstopper. If you haven't caught the backstory, take a look at our previous posts to see where it all began. The customer entrusted us with his prized vehicle after several attempts from other shops had left it in a state of disappointment . We took on the challenge, stripping it down to its core and starting over. With the expert help of Baker Tuning and Horsepower Proving Grounds, there efforts was able to power an impressive 650hp out of it on just 12psi. The vehicle was then tinted and stripped of old protected film by Metro Tint Solutions, setting the stage for Mister Mason Pulaski to work his magic on the paint. The end result is truly remarkable, and we're grateful to have played a part in bringing this beauty back to life for our customer, who 💯 deserved a happy ending after five years of setbacks. Thanks you again Don for entrusting JE Customs to get you your dream car back! 🏎️💨🔥
