Well abandonment is always tough on shallow old wells. Our favorite option: pull them out! It can be surprisingly easy, and not leaving the plastic in the ground is ideal. Thanks to Weeks Drilling and Pump Co. for the antique homemade clamps.

Leaky connection at the wellhead? 💦 Very delayed maintenance for sure... This is more than just wasted water; standing water at the wellhead is always an issue! Surface water can move down boreholes with old or imperfect seals, leading to bacterial issues and other problems. 👀

Bad case of chicken pox on the monitoring well cover? Nope, just birdshot! Anything that stands out in undeveloped areas can end up getting used for target practice. The thin metal of the cover will get some scars, but we usually spec heavier metal at the wellhead.
