Koh24. We went down to the lakebed early per the usual to get our pre running done when we could, everything went pretty well me and pretty much pre ran the whole coarse in the toyota with zero issues. Qualifying day we had the plan to keep the car together and shoot for a top 50 start. We ended up making a small mistake in resolution that cost us some time but in all we still had a good run that landed us 38th for race day. We did end up smoking a driveline but luckily was able to get me a new from west sac driveline before the race. Race morning went well and we cruised lap 1 with no issues and car felt great. We pulled into the pit where My guys topped the car off with fuel and tightened up a couple loose bolts and back out we went. Coming into turkey claw on lap 2 is when all the fun started, the driver side front coil over bolt snapped and the shock popped out and ripped the reservoir hose out. Me and Alex jumped out to figure out if we could salvage our race or we were out if the race, luckily I had some random bolts in the tool bag and we were able to get the shock back in and ran the rest if the race on just springs. We were going strong on lap 2 until Jack north where we ended up dumping the car on its side trying to get around a broken car. Thankfully there was a few other co drivers that hopped out of other cars to help us upright the car since we were in a pretty terrible spot and leaking pretty bad. Can't thank all those guys enough!! We continued on after that with the car pretty beat up and luck behold we broke the shock bolt again coming down full of hate and had to get back out amd fix it again with another random bolt and some loose washers I found in the car, from there we got back to pit 2 where the guys topped off the fluids and onced over everything amd sent us on the home stretch. We made a few more mistake in outer limits and Spooner trying to get around stuck and broke cars where Alex had to get out and pull winch line but all and all we didn't have to winch nearly as much as years past. We made it out of Spooner and saw the home stretch to the finish until the rear driveline decided to leave the chat and back out the car to swap the spare in. At that point we just decided let's baby the car the last few miles into resolution and take bypass into the short coarse to just get to the finish line. I'm super proud of my team and getting the car to the finish line this year with how many issues and up and down we had but I wouldn't trade the feeling of taking the checkered flag and seeing how excited my wife and kids were to see we finally did it after 5 years of failures. I couldn't have made this happen with out all my friends and sponsor that have helped us out get here and a huge thanks to maxxis tires for coming on board and we were able to run all week with zero flats!
