When you have to make the race you think outside the box.

A friend got a set of heads with the pushrod holes not machined for his stroke / case combination. We opened the inner ID hole up to .750” thinking we might gain what we needed but no go during mock up.

Instead of welding them up and starting over, will open the holes up .125” and move up to a larger o-ring size.

I machined these adapters that press in the upper tube today to gain the clearance we need. Will shorten the clips at assembly time to adjust the new needed length for proper tension.

Custom valves I’ve been waiting weeks for and here’s what was received.

Nothing I can’t fix with some machine time in the lathe but more time eaten up that isn’t billable.

Not worth sending back and waiting more weeks- frustrating

Racer community is a cool group.

A racer is waiting on new wheels and would have missed the first race of the season… another racer allowed me to pull the crank of his cases (due to his race season starting later) allowing us the chance to pull this off.

For the racer in need I am thanking the racer that gave it up today. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

2000-up XL cases require the pinion race to be clearanced for large lift lobes (or some chose to grind the corner of the cam lobe) This isnt required on the 91-99 cases.

Another safety net modification we always recommend is to pin the race- this ensure’s it can’t ‘walk’ out.

I’ve only seen this twice, One of the racers had this happen to them last year in a 10:30 motor…

XB9 crank

Anyone have an XB9 crank laying round they won’t be using?

I need 1 to press apart and do some measuring- won’t ever be run so a junk core is all I need.

I can provide a UPS shipping label

If anyone has one they want to sell please shoot me a note with what you want for it.

It’s the off season racers…. this is why heads need to be pulled apart and given a thorough inspection every winter. If nothing is found, button them back up and go into the new season with the peace of mind.

These will get new valves and guides along with springs. These heavy 2.150 intake valves with 160lbs of seat pressure / 390lbs on the nose when assembled by the original shop, it’s the first time I have had these in my hands so they will get repaired and assembled with the proper spring pressure to control such a heavy valve.
