Welder Job Responsibilities:
• Fabricates a variety of different systems and weldment
• Repairs a large variety of equipment, material, and systems new and old
• Welds a variety of items/material using all different processes. (MIG, TIG, Stick, dual shield, spool gun, brazing, Ect.)
• Modify/improve existing systems per customer/superior
• Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project
• Sourcing the materials to be used in the project
• Measuring and cutting materials to specifications
• Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together
• Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints
• Performs mechanical installations per direction.
• Reads and comprehends construction drawings and specifications.
• Lays out and installs equipment and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
• Works in conjunction with other crews and lead persons.
• Maintains responsibility for all tools and equipment assigned to the group.
[Work Hours] work schedule consists of 40+ hours a week with opportunities for overtime if desired.
Welder Qualifications / Skills:
• 3+ years relevant experience desired but not required.
• Timeliness is very important
• Additional certifications are not required but are a plus
• Ability to identify material and choose proper methods of repair
• Ability to document daily work and progress
• Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety
• Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• Graduation from high school, GED, military schools, vocational school, recognized craftsman apprenticeship program or equivalent
• At least five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in a combination of two or more skilled trades including knowledge of and ability to use tools materials and methods
• Current welding certifications (Recently expired certifications may be acceptable contingent upon the ability to successfully requalify prior to employment.)
• OSHA 10-hour safety course would be a plus
