Drye-McGlamery Engineering, PLLC is looking for an experienced Professional Engineer to join our growing team in Concord, NC.

We are specifically seeking a seasoned professional with previous engineering experience who is ready to step in, take ownership of projects, provide strong technical leadership, and work closely with our clients and team from design through completion.

Our work includes structural design, drawing production, permitting coordination, structural reports, site planning, steel joist evaluations, formwork and shoring design, and more across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Prior professional experience is highly valued for this position. We’re looking for someone who can bring proven knowledge and experience to our team while maintaining a high standard of quality, communication, and accountability.

Professional references and/or letters of recommendation are strongly encouraged.

Not your everyday dock project 🚁

Reliable Woodworks recently reached out to us with a unique project, designing the structure for a helicopter landing pad to be built above an existing dock in Mooresville, NC.

Heath took the lead on the structural design, working through the existing dock conditions, framing, connections, and reinforcement needed to make the concept work.

Here, Heath is walking Garrett through the drawings and some of the engineering behind the design.

We get to work on a lot of interesting projects, but we have to admit, designing a helicopter pad over a dock was pretty cool! 🚁 It’s always fun when a project comes across our desk that’s a little outside the ordinary.

A big thanks to Reliable Woodworks for reaching out and trusting our team with the structural engineering on this one. We’re excited to see it come to life!

🏗 Project Update: LS Greenlink

DME is proud to continue supporting Lithko on the LS Greenlink project! Our team has assisted with several components throughout the project, and most recently, our Engineering Technician, Garrett, has been on-site performing shoring inspections for the elevated slabs and stairs of the VCV Tower, along with the pump room.

The VCV Tower is especially impressive, standing as one of the tallest cast-in-place concrete structures in the Southeast region. With construction still actively underway, we’re excited to see this impressive project continue to take shape.

DME always values the opportunity to partner with Lithko and provide engineering support both in the office and out in the field.

What a beautiful fall day for a project update!

The DME team stopped by today to check out the progress on the new Edward Jones office building on Branchview Drive in Concord.

One of the best parts of what we do is seeing a project go from plans on paper to taking shape in real life. The wood framing is coming along nicely, and it’s exciting to see our structural and building designs come to life!

One of our Principal Professional Engineers, Daniel, had the opportunity to visit his daughter Ella Kate’s third-grade class and share a little about DME and what we do as engineers!

As part of the class’s entrepreneurship theme, Daniel talked with the students about engineering, the work our firm does, and what it’s like to be a professional engineer. The students also had the chance to ask questions and learn more about how engineers help bring ideas and projects to life.

We enjoyed the opportunity to introduce the next generation to engineering and it was especially meaningful for Daniel to share the experience with Ella Kate and her classmates!

DME was proud to serve as the Title Sponsor of the 2026 Annual Clay Shoot, benefiting the Central North Carolina Council, Scouting America! 🎯

Our very own Principal, Heath Drye, also serves as Event Chair and has been proud to help bring this event together in support of Scouting and the young people it serves throughout our community.

It was a great day filled with friendly competition, fellowship, and, most importantly, support for a great cause. Events like this wouldn’t be possible without the businesses, sponsors, participants, volunteers, and friends who continue to show up and give back year after year.

We’re incredibly appreciative of everyone who joined us on the course, sponsored a station or team, donated an auction item, volunteered their time, or supported the event in any way. Your involvement helps create meaningful opportunities for Scouts to learn, grow, lead, and experience the outdoors.

Drye-McGlamery Engineering is excited to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the new Edward Jones Office Building on Branchview Drive in the heart of Concord, NC!

DME is proud to serve as the Engineer of Record for this project, providing both the structural and building design for the new office building.

It has been a pleasure working alongside Ron Smith of Edward Jones, the building owner, and Ikes Construction to bring this project from design to construction. Seeing the plans begin to take shape in the field is always an exciting milestone, and we look forward to watching this project come to life!
