John Deere 870G LC - AFEX Install by Specialty Fire Suppression

The John Deere 870G is a heavy-duty large crawler excavator built for massive earthmoving, quarrying, and large-scale mass excavation projects. This machine has a 512 hp engine and an operating weight over 180,000 pounds.

Excavators are at the front lines of earthmoving projects. These machines are relied upon to clear material. Operators can't afford to have this equipment go down. That is why you see AFEX Fire Suppression Systems being installed.

How about some love for the rotary blast drills?!?

This Epiroc PV 291 was in La Negra, Chile, getting a fire suppression system installed by Fluitek Chile. These mobile drilling rigs are a huge part of open-pit mining. Before material can be pulled out of the ground, this machine drills holes for explosives.

A dual-agent system (liquid and dry agent) was installed on this machine and will likely be in operation by the time you are reading this.

Last week, the AFEX team traveled to FLO Components Ltd. to provide continued education on the AFEX fire suppression systems.

The biggest machines on the planet are protected by AFEX. The Caterpillar CAT 995 was just released this year to replace the 994K. This machine is one of the first of its kind in La Negra, Chile. It is a massive 272-ton piece of metal that moves material with ease.

Our partner, Fluitek Chile, installed this dual-agent system to protect the wheel loader. The 995 is only going to be found in open-pit mines. We were lucky enough to catch the fire suppression system installation before this machine got to work!

Regular checks can help identify issues before they affect system readiness, especially as equipment is used, serviced, repaired, and modified over time. CAT D10 - AFEX Install by Corporación Security Tech

The Caterpillar D10 puts 602 net horsepower and 154,888 pounds on the ground so it can shove 24-plus yards of material without backing down. High-horsepower reverse and a C27 to get the job done.

This machine has a 335 gallon diesel engine and 33 gallon hydraulic fluid tank. Those are potential fuel for fires. These end users protect the operators and machines by installing AFEX Fire Suppression Systems.
