This Memorial Day Weekend, REI honors the courage and daily sacrifices of the present and past Armed Forces.

Our nation would not be where it is today without the brave men and women who have stood up for human rights and defended our freedom.

This weekend is more than just a break from our routines; it’s a time to reflect, remember, and thank those who have served.

We draw inspiration from the words of Lucian Adams, a U.S. Army soldier awarded the Medal of Honor, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart for heroically eliminating enemy machine-gun positions to restore vital supply lines in World War II:

Congratulations to Cole from our Paving Team on achieving his North Carolina Department of Transportation / American Concrete Institute (ACI): Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 Certification!

Cole receiving this certification demonstrates that he possesses the ability, skills, and knowledge necessary to test fresh concrete. It included both instructional and hands-on field testing training, covering essential topics such as concrete materials, quality control, and assurance methods.

We're proud of him and excited to see him put it to good use!

Welcome to the REI team Drew Krebs, REWO!

Drew has his IIBEC - Registered Exterior Wall Observer and AWCI - Certified EIFS Inspector certifications. He graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Construction Management and has been in the construction industry for nearly a decade!

We are excited to have Drew and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

What a conference! Professionals from all around the world attended this year's World of Concrete 2025.

REI Engineers sent Jay Barr, PE, Marcos Quesada Jr., and Cole Hefner, PE to attend professional development and continuing education courses. The group spoke with vendors at the forefront of technological innovations and gained hands-on experience with new tools.

When in Rome! The group also went hiking for the day at Zion National Park. It was an incredible conference and an experience these guys won’t forget.

Happy Retirement Tom Tioran!

Tom was with REI for over 18 years! His dedication as Senior Technician helped REI provide engineering services to over 86 public/private commercial clients and worked on over 364 projects throughout his career! Tom was an asset to REI through his integrity, commitment, and expertise in building enclosure systems.

Tom looks forward to gardening, antique furniture repair, specialty carpentry, metalworking, and collecting old books. He will certainly be missed, and we wish him the best in retirement!

Happy Retirement Honeycutt!

Rodney dedicated 21 years to REI, beginning in 2004. Over his 31-year career in building enclosure consulting, he contributed to 450 projects for 36 public and private commercial clients. Rodney was known for finding cost-effective solutions that provided the best value for our clients.

In the summer, he hosted Lake parties for the REI team. In retirement, he looks forward to relaxing with family and friends on Lake Wateree.

We wish him all the best!
