Aviso de Violaciones a la Ordenanza del Cementerio de Raeford y Correcciones Requeridas

Estimados familiares del difunto(a):

Por medio de la presente, se les informa que ciertos artículos actualmente colocados en el cementerio no cumplen con las ordenanzas y regulaciones del cementerio de la Ciudad de Raeford.

Se ha observado que se han colocado artículos sobre o alrededor de las parcelas de entierro que no están permitidos según las normas establecidas. Estas regulaciones existen para garantizar que el cementerio permanezca seguro, bien mantenido y respetuoso para todas las familias.

Por la presente, se les solicita retirar los artículos que se encuentran en violación antes del 31 DE MARZO DE 2026. El incumplimiento de corregir estas violaciones dentro del plazo especificado puede resultar en que la Ciudad retire y disponga adecuadamente de los artículos que no cumplan con la normativa, de acuerdo con la política del cementerio.

Artículos que no cumplen con la normativa:
• Bordes individuales alrededor de la parcela
• Enrejados, arcos o cercas
• Árboles, plantas o arbustos que no estaban presentes antes del entierro
• Artículos sueltos, fotografías, botellas, figuras, etc.
• Más de un arreglo floral artificial de tamaño promedio
• Bancas de metal (solo se permiten bancas pequeñas de concreto)

Entendemos que las decoraciones se colocan con cuidado y en memoria de sus seres queridos; sin embargo, todos los artículos deben cumplir con las ordenanzas para permitir el mantenimiento adecuado del terreno y conservar la apariencia general del cementerio.

Notice of Raeford Cemetery Ordinance Violations and Required Corrections

Dear family members of departed,

This letter is to inform you that certain items currently placed at the cemetery are not in compliance with the City of Raeford cemetery ordinances and regulations.

It has been observed that items have been placed on or around burial plots that are not permitted under the established rules. These regulations are in place to ensure the cemetery remains safe, properly maintained, and respectful to all families.
You are hereby requested to remove the items that are in violation by MARCH 31, 2026. Failure to correct these violations within the specified time may result in the City removing and properly disposing of the non-compliant items in accordance with cemetery policy.
Non-Compliant items:
• Individual plot edging
• Trellis, arch, fence
• Trees, plants, bushes that were not there prior to interment
• Loose items, pictures, bottles, figurines, etc.
• More than one average size artificial flower arrangement.
• Metal benches. (Only small concrete benches are acceptable)
We understand that decorations are placed with care and remembrance; however, all items must comply with the ordinances to allow for proper grounds maintenance and the overall appearance of the cemetery.

City of Raeford Sanitation Services Update

Sanitation pickup will resume on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, for both East and West sides of town. Please insure poly carts are at the road for pick up Monday evening.

City of Raeford Public Works manages the sanitation, streets, parks and public buildings for the City of Raeford. We also manage city vehicles.

All City of Raeford offices and services will be closed on Monday, 1/26/26 due to incliment weather. If you have a water/sewer issue, please call the communications center at 910-875-2135 to report. On-call staff will respond.

The City Public Works department will be applying ice melt to the sidewalks and businesses downtown around 2:00 pm on Saturday. Please beware of your travel and stay safe.

**City of Raeford Public Works Weather Statement**

Dear Residents,

The City’s Department of Public Works is closely monitoring the forecasted freezing rain and ice event expected to impact our community over the weekend. Crews will work extended hours, as necessary, to improve safety and mobility throughout the city.

City personnel will apply ice melt to sidewalks, public walkways, areas in front of local businesses, and municipal buildings to help reduce hazardous walking conditions. In the event of snow, the City has plowing assets available to clear city streets. These efforts will continue as weather conditions allow.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will brine all state-maintained roads within the city limits, including:
• Harris Avenue
• Main Street (North and South)
• Central Avenue
• Prospect Avenue (East and West)

Please be advised that sanitation pickup for the week following the weather event may be delayed or interrupted due to unsafe road conditions for our sanitation staff. Updates will be provided by the Public Works Director through the City’s social media channels.

Residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling, whether by vehicle or on foot, as icy surfaces may remain slippery even after treatment. Please avoid unnecessary travel when possible. Allow extra time to reach your destination.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as our crews work to keep streets and sidewalks as safe as possible. Weather conditions may change quickly, and additional treatments will be made as needed.
