Check out this total refurb we were honored to have a hand in making happen. What started out as Squad 19-1 with a Reading Utility Body is now Brush 19 with everything you see below. Our involvement included:
- Removing all existing lighting, scene lighting and electronic components from the old body.
- Disconnecting all electrical systems from the old body.
- Reconnecting all electrical systems to the new body.
- Reinstalling existing body warning lights and new wiring to the existing controller.
- Mounting existing scene lights to new telescoping poles, mounting the poles to the body and wiring into the existing controller.
- Replacing rotator lightbar with a SoundOff Signal nFuse XL LED lightbar.
- Relocate existing grill lights.
- Install new Whelen Engineering Company, Inc. PAR46 warning lights in the front bumper.
- Install KC Highlighter driving lights in the front bumper.
- Install TecNiq Inc. compartment lighting.
- Remove existing unused wiring.
- Reinstall Kussmaul Electronics vehicle charger and auto eject.

This project was several months in the making for this customer. The end result turned out amazing and a piece that will serve their community well for many years to come at a fraction of the price of a brand new unit. We'd like to thank the membership for the continued confidence and support.

*** New House Siren Comes to Town ***

In partnership with Radio Maintenance, Inc., we recently completed the migration and cut over of a brand new house siren with controller for this repeat customer. The new setup at their current station consists of a Federal Signal Model 2 siren, controlled by an FCU controller and activated by a Swissphone X115 alphanumeric pager.

This setup replaces an aging Model 5 setup that was still located at their old station. For those interested, the old Model 5 has already been promised to a private collector. We thank the membership of the Strasburg Fire Company #1 for the continued business and trust.

We recently traveled out to our friends at Bald Eagle Fire Company to assist them with multiple items; one of which being replacing a tired Whelen 9000 series strobe lightbar with a SoundOff Signal nRoads Fleet Bar. The full feature LED bar has all of the options of a traditional LED bar, but at a fraction of the cost. This also shows two different flash patterns; when the vehicle is parked with the air brake applied and one with the air brake depressed to simulate when responding. We want to thank Chief Oswalt and the membership for the continuous courtesy every time we visit and for the continued confidence in Hammel Installs and the manufacturers we represent. For any department looking to put a utility together on a cheap budget, this would be perfect. Only catch is that the chassis would have to be 2014ish -2018 Silverado 2500 series.
