The CytoSorbents UK team is looking forward to joining the 52nd Annual Congress of the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain & Ireland (SCPS) this November.

The congress brings together the perfusion community for three days of scientific exchange, continuing education and discussion around current developments in perfusion and cardiothoracic care.

We look forward to connecting with perfusionists, healthcare professionals and industry colleagues throughout the meeting.

that in 1914, German physician Hugo Schottmüller proposed an early scientific definition of sepsis that helped shape the evolving understanding of the condition?

Schottmüller described sepsis as a condition in which pathogenic bacteria spread repeatedly or continuously from a local infectious focus into the bloodstream, causing signs and symptoms of illness.

His concept reflected the scientific understanding of the time and placed infection at the center of sepsis. Since then, our understanding has evolved considerably. Today, sepsis is understood as a life-threatening condition involving organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated response to infection.

Looking back at milestones such as Schottmüller’s work illustrates how the scientific understanding of sepsis has developed over more than a century.

🇬🇧 A first for CytoSorbents in the UK!

Last week marked a special milestone for CytoSorbents as we joined Aortic Live London 2026 for the first time and made our first exhibition appearance in the UK. 🇬🇧

It was a great opportunity to connect with experts in aortic and cardiac surgery, exchange perspectives and take part in interesting discussions throughout the meeting.

A big thank you to the organizers of Aortic Live London 2026, as well as to everyone who stopped by our booth and took the time to speak with us. We truly appreciated the warm welcome and the valuable conversations.
