Meet Kent Ropp, District Sales Manager

Kent covers Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri for Aggregates, along with Arizona and New Mexico for Hard Rock and Industrial Minerals.

With nearly 20 years of industry experience, primarily in screen media sales, Kent brings a strong understanding of customer needs and the challenges that come with keeping operations moving.

“I don’t aim to be the typical salesperson who simply shows up. I strive to be a problem solver when issues arise.”

For Kent, building strong customer relationships starts with listening, understanding the application, and being a reliable resource when support is needed.

Outside of work, Kent lives in San Antonio with his wife, Letty, and their dog, Lasso. He enjoys traveling, grilling, spending time with family and friends, college football, and fishing.

We're excited to be working with the Academy of Careers and Technology (ACT) again this year for the Explore: The New Manufacturing, Manufacturing Innovation Challenge!

Students from ACT visited our Princeton facility for a tour and to review this year’s challenge. Throughout the program, students will work closely with mentors, applying classroom knowledge to real-world manufacturing challenges, gaining hands-on experience and developing technical and problem-solving skills.

Meet Kylie Poe, one of Conn-Weld’s newest machinists.

Kylie’s interest in manufacturing grew from being around fabrication and became more focused on machining when she took a class in high school. With guidance from her instructor, she discovered a career path she wanted to pursue.

Now at Conn-Weld, Kylie continues to develop her skills, learn new processes and gain hands-on experience. Her uncle, Fred Poe, also works at Conn-Weld as a truck driver.

Her advice to anyone considering manufacturing: “Always do your best, work hard and be willing to learn new things.”

As Manufacturing Week comes to a close, Kylie’s story reflects the importance of connecting education with career opportunities.
