One of the best things about running your own shop is having the flexibility to work on your own schedule. Once the house settled down and everyone was off to bed, Malachi and I headed out to the shop, put on some Star Wars, grabbed a late-night snack, and spent a little time making chips.

It's not always about the hours you put in, but sometimes it's about enjoying the little moments along the way. A little shop time, some good company, and making memories while getting the job done.

Wouldn't trade these nights for anything! ❤️

With Halloween upon us, Stout Family Machine Shop decided to spin up a few spider webs to decorate the shop! 🤣🕷️

As you can see, we might have the color off by just a little bit, but we're definitely spinning webs faster than any spider I've ever seen!

Who needs spiders when you've got CNC machines? 😂

Running a business can be stressful one day and incredibly rewarding the next!

After a challenging week, we were able to end it on a great note by helping a customer out in a pinch. A rush job came in Friday, and as soon as the material arrived Saturday, it was time to get to work and knock it out!

These are the moments that make all the hard work worth it. There’s nothing more rewarding than being able to step up, get the job done, and help a customer when they need it most.

Another job knocked out, another customer helped, and another reminder of why we do what we do! 💪🔧

Just when you feel like everything is going great, jobs are getting done, and parts are heading out the door, life decides to throw you a curveball! 🤦‍♂️

This week, our CNC mill decided it was going to give me a run for my money with a series of error codes I just couldn’t track down. After a lot of stress, troubleshooting, and a few phone calls to a good friend, Rob, we finally figured out the root cause. He helped me get the parts ordered, and it was time to get to work.

After replacing a servopack and learning how to transfer parameters from one unit to another, we’re back in business! 💪 The mill is up and running, and jobs are pumping again.

Running a machine shop isn’t always smooth sailing. Sometimes it’s about figuring things out, learning something new, leaning on good people, and refusing to give up when things get tough.

A big thanks to Rob for taking the time to help me get this figured out. It’s good to have people in your corner!

Now, let’s get back to making chips! 🔥⚙️

Out with the old, in with the new! 🛠️

I'm not going to lie, this past week has been tough. We were so close to finally being ready to run parts when our air compressor motor completely gave out. Talk about bad timing.

But light at the end of the tunnel: the new air compressor arrived today and we are back in business! In light of how aggravating the breakdown was, I have to give a huge shoutout to Home Depot. I was so pleasantly surprised by how helpful they were in replacing the old unit and rushing the new one out to the shop.

Time to finally get to work! 🚀
