We are a creative engineering firm located in midtown Kansas City, specializing in electronic product design. In 2025, we added 16 new team members to Engenious Design. Each person brings a unique blend of personality, skill and capabilities that make us better—for our clients and for each other.

We are intentional about growth at Engenious, our aim is to be world-class. We prioritize giving every new team member the attention, training and support they deserve. To ensure that our onboarding experience remains intentional and uninterrupted, we pause new hire starts for a brief period beginning in November and continuing through the end of December.

This pause allows our teams to focus on year-end objectives and time-off around the holidays. By beginning onboarding fresh in the new year, we create space for a smoother, more engaged and a fully supported start for every new member of our team.

Engenious is growing in team members, capabilities and square footage! Our recent design center refresh has elevated the experience for our team and our clients. Our identity has always been about being a bold and creative design firm, embracing optimism and what’s possible versus drab and uninspired. Bright and colorful was part of our brand from day one. New offices, conferences rooms, lab spaces and equipment upgrades are just some of the improvements made this year.

Tobe Nightengale has joined Engenious Design as a Project Coordinator.

He comes to us with a degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and experience in R&D testing, medical device development and packaging engineering for nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and CPG industries.

Sarah Schellhase has joined Engenious as an Associate Test Engineer!

With both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Sarah started her career as a product development engineer in medical devices. At Engenious, she will work with the team to develop test methods across all engineering disciplines, conducting software, electronics, mechanical and system integration testing of medical devices and other high technology systems. Ensuring that the products we design are safe and effective.

Clay Hardin has joined Engenious Design as a test technician.

With a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics from K-State Clay brings experience in prosthetic design, thermal ablation device research and manufacturing in radiopharmaceuticals. At Engenious, Clay will be a an integral part of our design team - responsible for testing everything from early prototypes of aerospace components to final versions of life saving medical devices. On the front lines of answering questions like “is this possible?”, “why did this fail?”, and “is this device safe and effective?”.
