My husband Dillon went on a harvest crew in 2003 with a crew from Minnesota. After Dillon returned home from the summer harvest run, he started his junior year of college at Oklahoma State University where he graduated in 2006 with an Ag business degree and a minor in finance! The crew that Dillon harvested with saw a great opportunity with Dillon. The owner was ready to retire and stay home on hi
s Minnesota dairy farm. So the next year we leased all of the previous owners equipment and in 2004, we embarked on our first harvest season. Honestly, I am not sure how we got one single job! We were all so young. Dillon, myself, and JW (family friend Dillon grew up with) were only 21. Dillon’s brother, Laramie, was 18, Chuck (also family friend) was 16 and Dillon’s youngest brother, Casey, was 14! Yep, I’d say we were still wet behind the ears, for sure…but here it is 18 years later and we are still going strong.Dillon and I were married in October of 2004. We have two amazing boys, Colston 14 and Riggin 10! Colston is ate up with harvest just like his daddy! He has been going to the field every day since age 3. Colston became one of the hired hands at age 8 and drove our tractor and grain cart most of the summer. We are sure PROUD of him. Colston was moved up to a combine in 2020 full time and did an amazing job!! Riggin is my sweet, tenderhearted boy. He is easy going; so he is fine at the field or running errands with me. At age 7 he started running the grain cart. We are truly blessed to have two happy, healthy boys that we get to spend the summer with making AMAZING family memories that will last a life time!! I would like to say THANK YOU to all the hard working farmers and harvesters out there! Without you, we’d all go hungry. Feeding the world one acre at a time!! Happy Harvesting everyone! God bless,
