My family recognized the rich national history of this historic region and went to great lengths to teach me about it while growing up. As such, we seek to maintain the ideals and values of the old-world craftsmen that built the early infrastructure of our nation; to provide our customers with old-world craftsmanship while incorporating the latest innovations in high quality firearms and constantly striving for innovation in order to push quality forward. After nearly a decade as an Aerospace Engineer, I have used the principles fundamental to Safety of Flight analysis and applied them to development of extremely accurate and reliable long range, precision platforms. This eye for variation and development has allowed us to develop processes and solutions for the benefit of our customers to build complete long range solutions. We work to partner with other like-minded businesses to provide the highest quality products available. I have been running Osprey barrels from PVA for five years. Barrel life is something I always keep in mind because I operate a long range training school where I provide ri**es. We run a lot of 6.5 Creedmoor and 6 Creed. I usually get in the neighborhood of 3500 - 4000 rounds out of 6.5 Creedmoor and 2000 out of 6 creed. Josh mentioned an extended life barrel he developed and I was all over it. I decided to run it in 6 Creed because I can torch a barrel pretty fast. I'm impressed to say the least. The barrel didn't change speed in the first 400 rounds, it was extremely stable. I cleaned it after the first 200 rounds. It cleaned up very easily since the carbon doesn't stick to the nitride very well. As expected, it groups great. I cleaned the barrel again after 600 rounds and noticed there wasn't a "rough" feel when running a brush through the barrel, it was smooth. After cleaning it, I ran a bore scope through it to evaluate fire cracking...there wasn't any yet. I have since put nearly 1800 rounds through it and it continues to perform flawlessly. There is virtually no throat erosion yet and I'm anticipating at least 3000 rounds before questioning the remaining life, this is a game changing improvement for our school ri**es, especially the 6 Creeds and 6.5 PRCs. If you are considering a barrel that boasts great barrel life and precision, I wouldn't hesitate to get one of these.

In an ever-continuing effort to constantly push the state of the art in precision r***e technology, Osprey Barrel works is proud to announce the Titanium Lightweight option. The heart of this product's performance is the supremely accurate Osprey Blank; a double stress relieved, honed and lapped, CReS (stainless) blank. The contoured blank is then fitted with a Titanium sleeve and pre-tensioned to strain-stiffen the core of the barrel and increase the overall stiffness with minimal addition to the core weight.

These barrels are easily light enough to be the gold standard on a Mountain R***e with the long-string performance needed for competitions like NRL Hunter and PRS applications.

All muzzles come precision threaded 5/8-24 with an 11 degree target crown. Gunsmithing is only required on the breech to fit the barrel to a receiver and be ready to shoot. Cerakote application is approved with the exception of the muzzle threads and crown.

Available in 224, 243/6mm, 257, 264/6.5, 277, 284/7mm, 308 with various twist rates meant for long range, precision projectiles.

Contour: 1.20 OD shank for 2.5", taper from 1.20 to 1.0 at 4.5" from breech, 1.0" to muzzle shoulder.
Blank Length/Weight: 26" 224 3lb , estimate 1.1oz per inch shorter than 26" (IE 20" long is 6*1.2oz ~6.5oz lighter)
Materials: Osprey CReS standard core, over-sleeve TI Type 2 DOM Tube
All muzzles come 5/8-24 Class 2A threads with an 11 degree target crown.
