This two-piece reclaimed barnwood mantel found its home above a beautiful stone fireplace, finished off with rustic hardware chosen and installed by the homeowner. We love seeing how each customer adds their own personal touch—it makes every project one of a kind.

Today, America celebrates 250 years.

For two and a half centuries, this country has been built by people willing to work with their hands, take risks, solve impossible problems, and leave something better behind for the next generation.

The old barns we reclaim weren't built by machines or factories. They were raised by neighbors, farmers, carpenters, and families who believed that hard work mattered. Every weathered board carries a small piece of that legacy, and we're honored to help preserve it.

As our Founders declared 250 years ago:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

May we never lose sight of the grit, faith, ingenuity, and perseverance that built this nation—and may we continue to preserve the history those generations left behind.

Every weathered board, every faded coat of red paint, every nail hole and saw mark came from people who worked this land, built communities, and helped shape the country we call home. Preserving those pieces of history is why we do what we do.

As the quote often attributed to Mark Twain says:
"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it."

These reclaimed American flags and barnwood stars are built from wood that's already lived a lifetime—and we think that's a fitting reminder that the strongest things are often the ones worth preserving.

This week, we're celebrating the people, the history, and the enduring spirit that make America what it is.

Now this is how you make an entrance.

Our friend Steve with S&L Contracting built this beautiful mudroom shelving system using some of our true-dimension reclaimed barnwood, and we can't stop admiring it. Equal parts functional and statement piece, it's the kind of project that makes a house feel like home.

The best part? Every board has a story. Long before it became shelves, cubbies, and coat hooks, this wood spent decades weathering North Idaho seasons in an old barn.

A new purpose. A new chapter. But the same old character.

Fantastic work, Steve. We love seeing history put back to work.

Happy Birthday to the guy behind the barns, beams, benches, and just about everything else around here.

Adam has a rare talent for working harder than anyone in the room while somehow still having the most fun doing it. Whether he's salvaging a century-old barn, building a custom piece, or finding a new way to make me question his safety choices, he approaches it all with equal parts skill, grit, and humor.

Nine Pines Barnwood wouldn't be what it is today without his vision, craftsmanship, and countless hours of hard work.

There’s something special about a table built with your own hands. 🪵❤️

Adam made this dining table for our home, and it has quickly become one of our favorite pieces we’ve ever worked on. The reclaimed barnwood is absolutely incredible — full of rich grain, old saw marks, warmth, and character you simply can’t buy new. And seeing that old wood transformed into something this beautiful and functional makes me so proud of his craftsmanship and skill.

More than anything though, we love what this table means. Shared meals, late-night conversations, laughter, holidays, hard days, good days — the kind of memories that quietly become the foundation of a home. We’re looking forward to many years gathered around this table.

View from the office this spring. 🌲☀️

Some mornings on the barn sites feel less like work and more like stepping into a painting. The fog settled in low, the sunrise broke through the trees, and for about ten minutes the whole place looked absolutely unreal.

Not a bad place to punch the clock. 🪵❤️
