June 14th is Flag Day — a day to celebrate the American flag and everything it represents.

First adopted in 1777, the Stars and Stripes has become a powerful symbol of unity, freedom, and the courage of those who defend our nation. Since its official recognition in 1949, Flag Day has served as a reminder of the values we share and the history that binds us together.

Here at US Flag & Signal, we are proud to supply, and display the American flag and the flagpoles that help it fly. It’s an honor to support our community in showing their patriotism today and every day.

Flying your flag through winter takes a little extra care, and the right preparation can significantly extend its life.
Cold temperatures, high winds, ice buildup, and road salt all take a toll on both flags and hardware. When strong winds are forecasted, it’s often best to temporarily lower your flag to reduce stress on the fabric and stitching.
Snow and ice should never be allowed to accumulate on a flag. If your flag becomes wet or frozen, take it down and allow it to fully dry before flying it again. Moisture combined with freezing temperatures can weaken fibers over time.
Winter is also a good time to inspect your pole and hardware. Check halyard ropes, clips, and pulleys for wear, and make sure metal components move freely and show no signs of damage.
Even the highest-quality flags benefit from thoughtful care. Proper winter handling helps ensure your flag remains a symbol of pride long after the cold months pass.
And if your flag or flagpole needs a refresh, call us at 757-497-8947

🚨 Winter Weather Advisory — Protect Your Flags & Flagpoles 🚨

Another round of winter weather is heading our way today, bringing heavy snow, strong winds, and icy conditions. It’s a smart time to bring your flags down before the storm moves in.

Wind, ice buildup, and wet snow can put a lot of strain on both the fabric and the hardware, leading to fraying, broken snaps, or damage to your pole.

While you’re taking things down, it’s also a good opportunity to give your halyard, clips, and flag a quick check for any signs of wear.

If you discover anything that needs attention — from a replacement flag to a full flagpole repair — we’re here to help.

🚨 Winter Storm Reminder 🚨

With the upcoming winter weather moving in, now is a great time to take your flags down before the wind and ice do any damage.

Strong gusts, freezing rain, and heavy snow can quickly tear fabric, bend hardware, and shorten the life of your flag.

This is also a great time to inspect your flag and hardware for wear and tear.
If you need a replacement flag or flagpole repair, give us a call at 757-497-8947 — we’re happy to help.

Stay safe, stay warm, and we’ll be here when it’s time to fly them again 🇺🇸
