As communities across southeastern North Carolina continue to grow, so does the demand on the infrastructure that supplies their water.
The Kings Bluff Raw Water Transmission Main was developed to expand capacity and strengthen reliability for the region served by the Lower Cape Fear Water & Sewer Authority. Across two phases of the project, Northwest Pipe manufactured nearly 21 miles of 54-inch engineered steel pipe to support the expansion of the regional raw water system.
Our scope included cement mortar-lined, polyurethane-coated steel pipe engineered for the project’s alignment and operating requirements, including pipe for an approximately 800-foot crossing beneath the Cape Fear River.
The result is additional transmission capacity and greater system redundancy—helping provide a more reliable raw water supply for communities and industries throughout the growing Lower Cape Fear region.
