We recently had the opportunity to visit a 6th-grade science class at Molalla Middle School, where two of our engineers shared how buildings are designed to withstand earthquakes.

Using our ongoing Molalla Middle School Replacement project as a real-world example, they explained how a structure experiences seismic forces and how lateral force-resisting systems, such as shear walls, help keep buildings safe during earthquake events.

It's always fun to connect with our end-users and share a little about the exciting work that we do every day!

It was a great experience connecting engineering concepts to the classroom and seeing students engage with the science behind the buildings they use every day. We're always excited to support STEM education and inspire the next generation of problem solvers.

We're excited to have Caleb Oesch and Carena Bledsoe on our team this summer as they gain hands-on experience in structural engineering and contribute to projects that strengthen our communities.

🎣 Outside of work, Caleb enjoys playing disc golf, fishing, traveling, and cooking. His favorite Oregon activities include fly fishing, hiking, and trips to the coast.

📍 Hometown: Hot Springs, Arkansas
🎓 Oklahoma State University
📸 Carena enjoys long walks, thrift shopping, and spending time with friends and family while capturing memories through photos and videos. Her favorite Oregon activities include road trips, hiking, floating the river, camping, and exploring the coast.

Last week, the sun came out and the community showed up to celebrate the grand opening of Central Oregon Community College's newest building! Building 2 on the Madras campus will provide nursing and early childhood education programs to help meet local workforce needs. This event will include “Engineers at Ground Zero”—a documentary highlighting the vital role structural engineers played in post–9/11 response and recovery efforts. This special screening, in collaboration with the Structural Engineers Association of New York, will be followed by a Q&A discussion.

From Design to Grand Opening 🎉

Our team is proud to be part of the Tillamook Bay Community College Health Education Building that opened last weekend to the greater Tillamook community. One of our engineers, Damian Andreani, was there with the design and construction team as the doors officially opened. It’s always rewarding to watch a project come to life and begin making an impact.
