Re: IDC Engineering’s Statement on Coronavirus COVID-19
To our clients and associates:
The Coronavirus has presented a significant health concern for not only ourselves, but our clients, and all of our families. We feel it is important to address the issue, review our practices, and make changes as appropriate to provide a safe, healthy work environment for everyone involved. Not only do we endeavor to be responsible as individuals, but as Professional Engineers, we are obligated by our profession to safeguard the public.
We are reviewing our work, and making changes, some temporary, some permanent to serve safety and minimize the chance of coronavirus spread.
1. We will be minimizing airline travel in favor of driving to client sites. In some cases, this will increase travel time, but with strategic planning, we can coordinate several projects where practical into a single trip and minimize the impact.
2. We will minimize personal contact at client sites. Our personnel will carry personal sized containers of Purell hand sanitizer. In addition to current normal hygiene practices, Purell will be used frequently throughout the day, before and after any greetings, to prevent infectious spread.
3. For the time being, we will be limiting training class size to 10 attendees. In addition, we will seek larger spaces to encourage more separation among participants and provide Purell hand sanitizer for general use. We will encourage its use.
4. When staying at hotels or using rental vehicles, our field personnel will use Lysol disinfectant to spray all room and car surfaces prior to occupancy. When using hotel exercise facilities, any equipment used will be disinfected before and after use.
It is our goal to remain productive and continue to provide engineering services to our clients, while at the same time, protect the health and welfare of our personnel, our clients, their employees and families. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you as always!
Warmest Regards,
Julie E. VanDyne, P.E.
