Timberlab provides some of the highest quality glulam manufacturing and fabrication services in the domestic U.S. construction market. With facilities based in the heart of Oregon’s timber basket, our operations ensure that your projects use the highest-grade lumber in the country.

With extensive roots as a builder, we turned to glulam production in 2021 to meet the industry’s growing need for large-scale custom fabrication, allowing the market to take on bigger and taller mass timber structures. In 2024, our team launched manufacturing operations with ambitions to grow the market supply and supporting regional timber economies. Offering multiple specie types, we produce glulam that meets both performance aesthetic standards for a wide range of structural and architectural applications.

For more information about our glulam offerings, please see our comprehensive Glulam Product Guide.

1,200.

That’s how many glulam beams our team fabricated and installed for the new Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, TN. Designed by industry juggernauts - the new mass timber museum features a stunning display of regionally-sourced southern pine mass timber product.

Slated for completion this year, the new civic center will be one of the largest mass timber projects on the east coast.

Mass Timber Benefits: Wood-to-Wood Connections

Wood connections offer a compelling opportunity to reduce or eliminate metal connections. This helps simplify job site assembly and preserve the architectural intent of exposed timber structures. By relying on fabrication methods like notches, concealed screws, and interlocking profiles, the hardware typically associated with structural connections can be taken out in the design process.

This approach also simplifies sequencing by enabling prefabricated assemblies to arrive at the jobsite installation-ready, reducing the need for extensive bolting, bracket installation, or additional wood cover for fire protection. Timberlab’s engineering and design teams specialize in early-phase collaboration to identify where these efficiencies can be realized. Using the expertise of our digital construction and fabrication teams, we ensure that the mass timber members produced off-site come together with precision during the installation process.

A First Look into Timberlab's New Cross-laminated Timber Facility

This state-of-the-art facility, part of a $150M investment from Timberlab’s parent company, Swinerton Incorporated, reflects our team’s dedication to advancing the mainstream adoption of mass timber in the U.S. construction market. Once completed, the 186,000-square-foot plant will produce an annual output of 100,000 cubic meters of CLT, making it one of the largest facilities of its kind in the nation. This initiative aligns with Timberlab's mission to streamline the mass timber supply chain, ensuring affordability, high quality, and wide usability of timber in construction projects.
