First ballot: Bill Prince was inducted into the Wisconsin Sailing and Maritime Hall of Fame September 18 & 19 as part of its inaugural class.

Bill was recognized for his “international reputation as one of America’s most accomplished yacht designers.”

Other inductees include Peter and Olaf Harken and Carl Kiekhaefer, founder of Mercury Marine.

Bill is “humbled and honored to be included in this elite class of global marine industry leaders from Wisconsin”.

The Wisconsin Maritime Museum Hall of Fame inaugural class has been announced. Bill is honored and humbled to be part of it.

Other inductees include true Wisconsin legends Peter and Olaf Harken, Mike Kelsey, Carl Kiekhaefer, Buddy Melges, Don O’Keeffe and Bill Schanen.

The induction ceremony takes place September 19.

The Wisconsin Maritime Museum will open a new Sailing and Maritime Hall of Fame in Manitowoc on Sept. 19.
