The dancing plague of 1518 started with one woman in a Strasbourg street.
It was July. Later accounts name her Frau Troffea. She danced for days, with no music and no reason anyone could give.
Within about a week, some 30 more people had joined her. Some accounts put the total at up to 400.
The city’s physicians blamed “overheated blood”. Their cure was more dancing. So the council opened guild halls, put up a stage in the market and paid musicians to keep the dancers going.
Later the council changed course. It banned public dancing and music, and the dancers were taken to the shrine of St Vitus at Saverne. People believed this saint could curse you with a dance.
Some chronicles say people died. How many is unknown, and the city’s own records from that summer don’t mention deaths.
Why it happened is still argued over. One popular guess is ergot, a mould on rye. Historian John Waller argues against it and points to mass psychogenic illness (mass hysteria) after years of famine and disease.
Which explanation do you find more convincing, and why?

One camera move. Seven industries. Nothing was filmed.

Restaurants. Hungry in three seconds.
Product launch. Every colorway, no photo shoot.
Delivery. Delivered, dramatically.
Construction. No one got hurt.
Automotive. Zero laps driven.
Beauty. Smell it through the screen.
Fashion. Four looks, one walk.

Every frame of this film was generated with AI. No set, no crew, no real cars or people. Just a pencil sketch that turned into a commercial.

Part 2: one full video, generated in two clicks.

Not stitched together by hand. Not regenerated again and again while the budget burns. Two clicks, and the system took the scene from a rough 3D sketch to the finished shot, frame for frame.

We found a way to automate the whole process: you tell the system what you want, and it builds the video. Is it perfect? No. But imagine what we can do when the process runs on its own.

If you can describe a process, we can automate it.

PATech Studio is open.

PATech Labs now has a creative studio for brands that need video, not just software.

Music videos. Product reels. Explainers. Ads. Vertical, horizontal, any format.

We write the story, build the 3D previz, render, edit and mix. Every shot is planned before a single frame is generated, so the final cut matches the idea shot for shot.

Behind it is our own agent infrastructure. It takes the repetitive work: script to scenes, renders, cuts on the beat, captions in three languages. Our people make the creative calls.

You bring the idea. We bring it to the screen.

Send us a message and tell us what you want to make.

He kept a scammer on the line for 40 minutes. On purpose.

A cyber security professor was having lunch with his family when the call came. He played along, his kids laughed, and that was 40 minutes the scammer couldn’t spend on vulnerable people.

Then he realised those 40 minutes were his own life, too. So he and his team built bots that do the time-wasting for him: 100+ days of scammer time in one pilot.

Empty planes kept leaving, Southwest’s pilots’ union told the Senate. The pilots were there, the union said. Southwest’s crew scheduling system had no current data on where they were.

Empty flights: testimony of Capt. Casey Murray, president of the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA), U.S. Senate Commerce Committee, Feb 9, 2023: «During the meltdown, the Airline operated more than 500 empty flights.» Southwest’s own count of these flights was not found in its filings.

Southwest COO Andrew Watterson to the Senate: «They showed up. We had absolutely no problem with attendance nor service.»

Southwest 10-K (filed Feb 7, 2023): «While the Company is still assessing the causes of the disruption, the Company’s preliminary assessment is that the crew scheduling software worked as designed during this event.» It adds: «Without updated, accurate crew member data, the Company’s crew scheduling software could not reassign crew members to solve for flights with crew coverage issues.»

At the Senate, Feb 9, 2023, Watterson said the software «didn’t stop working,» that it «had a particular fault… fell down, so to speak, and overwhelmed,» and: «Yes, there were technology issues during the disruption and we don’t dispute that.» He named the root cause as «how we handled our winter operations… The last domino was the crew scheduling system.»

≈ $800M = Southwest’s estimate of the pre-tax financial impact of the whole disruption (10-K), not of the software alone.

212 orders filled. It kept sending. Over $460 million lost, the SEC found.

Before the bell on Aug 1, 2012, Knight Capital’s system sent 97 error emails. None were acted on. One part of the system knew the orders were filled. It never told the part sending them: over 4 million executions in 45 minutes.

Days before Aug 1, 2012, new code missed one of Knight’s eight servers; on Aug 1, old «Power Peg» code on that server was triggered.
The SEC found Knight violated the SEC’s market access rule; Knight agreed to pay $12 million and did not admit or deny the findings (SEC order 34-70694, Oct 16, 2013).

Anyone can make a cinematic video now. Almost nobody automates the whole thing.

Everything is within reach today. You block out a scene in Blender, run it through an AI video model like Seedance, and get a shot like the one on top. The rough 3D sketch is at the bottom.

But look at what that took. Somebody built the mockup, somebody picked the look, somebody wrote the story, somebody stitched it all together. That is still manual work.

Now flip it. The system thinks it through. It builds the 3D mockup, picks the visuals, writes the storyline and connects every piece. You hand over an idea and get the finished video back.

That is what automation actually means: a system that runs the whole thing from start to finish on its own.

And it is not only about video. Any process in any business can be automated, if you have the right commands and the right hands behind it.

That is what we build at PATech Labs.

What would you automate first?
