BMJ was happy to co-host 76 attendees at the 3rd annual thumb region drain contractor’s conference in Kingston, MI last Tuesday. The conference included representatives from 8 counties. It was a great day to get out of the field and shop to discuss important topics, new technology and make lasting connections.

Winter can be a great time to have your land surveyed. Wooded or brushy properties can be easier to survey than in the summer months because of the lack of vegetation, and not dealing with mosquitos and ticks is another bonus.

A second benefit is a quicker turnaround on projects. The construction season comes to an end during the winter. This allows us to schedule projects sooner than we would during the busy times of spring, summer and fall.

If you are a Marysville resident or a non-resident who uses Marysville's parks, please take a few minutes to complete the survey that is linked below. The city is receiving public feedback to create a new Master Plan for potential improvements for Veterans Memorial Park (on the riverfront across from Marysville City Park ("Train Park"). BMJ and Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. are working together to assist the City of Marysville in this process, with financial assistance provided by a grant from NOAA and EGLE's Coastal Management Program.

Congrats to the City of Marysville, Michigan on being awarded another grant. This is an Michigan Department of Transportation Transportation Economic Development Fund Category F grant, which will provide $375,000 toward completing the remaining portion of Cuttle Road between Range Road and Busha Highway. A portion of this road segment was reconstructed this year and this will get the rest done. BMJ asssisted Marysville in preparing the grant application and looks forward to assisting them during the design and construction phases of the project. Construction will be completed in 2023.
