Here is the announcement for our upcoming marine training program geared towards the marine professional.
Advanced Marine Drivability V
This is the filth version of this jam packed session. This is geared for the intermediate to advanced technician who already understands the basics. Attendees will learn how adding PicoScope 7 to their diagnostic arsenal will greatly improve their "fix it right the first time" percentages, increase productivity, and improve customer satisfaction. Scan tools can only get you so far many times. Learn how to diagnose without swaptronics and without taking anything apart. Don't be a parts changer - become a valuable and sought after marine diagnostician!
Day 1 - Non-Intrusive Engine Mechanical Diagnostics. Retire your compression and leakdown testers for good. Learn how to verify engine mechanical health - both sealing AND breathing in minutes including leaking valves, head gaskets, pistons, worn cam lobes, etc.. Often times this is accomblished without spark plug removal.
Day 2 - Ignition System Diagnostics. Learn how to acquire and interpret primary and ignition patterns. You'll know instantly if the problem is inside or outside the cylinder. Locate fouled plugs, weak coils, faulty plug wires, lean cylinders and if combustion actually took place inside the cylinder. Learn how to check if an Vortec HVS distributor is phased correctly without using Mercury Marine's TSB which requires balancer tape, an LED and a 9V battery.
Day 3 - Fuel System Diagnostics. Learn how to diagnose fuel systems without using a fuel pressure gauge often times. Methods shared in this class will also tell the technician if the issue is located on the boat or engine side. Using low amp probes we'll show if an injector opened and how well the electric fuel pump is working.
Day 4 - Low Amp Current Probe Diagnostics. Solve boats that intermittently cut out, stall, buck, miss, won't start, etc. Leveraging current probes along with monitoring inputs and outputs on ECU's is the only way to mitigate swapping parts and guessing on these pesky service calls.
We'll elaborate on the other two offerings later. Classes are located @ EHOVE Career Center in Milan, Ohio in our Marine Trades Technician Lab. Plenty of hotel choices in the heart of Cedar Point's offseason for travelling attendees.
