This is a top 5 edition to my collection Louie Cyr loadable Dumbbell. Pictured next to a 100lb York globe shows its size. The dumbbell weighs 87lbs empty and can be loaded to 157lbs. The history of the Louie Cyr dumbbells is spectacular. This particular Dumbbell spent much time in an old school gym that eventually closed and ended up in an antique store. Currently I’m trying to find out the name of the gym it came from. This looks to be the exact style Dumbbell being lifted by John Grimek who has spent time in Montreal and Quebec with Adrian Gagnon. Is it possible this is the Dumbbell lifted by Grimek? No way to know but it’s possible. I believe the Cyr Dumbbell to be 100 years old and is in excellent condition. I’ve included a 1947 issue of John Grimek on the cover of Adrian Gagnon’s magazine. The Dumbbell is a rare find and I could not be happier to add to my collection. I hope you enjoy and God bless.
